Goodbye Year, Hello 2010

I took a drive this morning. One of those drives where you're not sure where you'll end up but the ride there is all you really care about. I needed to think, clear my head, and fill my heart with God's beauties so I could take on another day. And so naturally I drove myself right into the drive-thru lane at Starbucks. Triple, Grande, nonfat, white mocha.. yumm. Oh my little piece of heaven on this very earth. Dear Lord, will you please build a Starbucks in heaven so when I get there I can still have my yummy coffee drinks that have a way of melting my heart like you do? Ok thanks, Amen. I know, its been far too long since I last posted something, but being that I don't have anyone that really follows my blog, I don't see the issue. Blame it on the holidays, busy schedules, or maybe even school coming to an end, but the truth is, I could just as easily post something during class.. shh don't tell. No I think the truth is, I haven't had anything inspire me to write. Until now.. song of choice, Closer to Love by Mat Kearney. MMM, listen to it, know it, love it. Yes Please :)

Its a new year and 2010 is showing prospect of being just as eventful as the last. For starters.. a new "Golden" nugget is on the way.. no, not mine, but my brother-in-law and his wife's! I'm finally getting back into the studio this coming January. Its time. And I have the most amazing Husband that believes in me even when I don't, its because of him that I remember what my passions truly are in life. And other than that, us "Evans" girls ALWAYS have crazy adventures and side trails in our journey being mommy's, housewives, friends, sisters, and daughters. After all, each day IS a gift, so enjoy it. Happy New Year!

My Diamonds in the Ruff

As always, I stumbled out of bed this morning heading for my coffee pot, one eye still closed, hair.. eh unspeakable. It's become a usual ritual that our dog, Bella, has caught onto knowing to stay clear of mom while she struggles to find her morning balance. Mmm doesn't the smell of starbuck's kenya, extra bold, freshly ground I might add, just make your heart flutter. There's nothing like it. Except maybe my gorgeous husband who was just on his way out for work as I soaked in the caffeine goodness. Yep, it's safe to say I'm one lucky girl. I grabbed some clothes and a pair of comfy flats as I flew out the door wondering why I chose to pick up an extra shift at Gap. Ah, another gem in my life, a little slice of wonderful in my chaotic schedule.. just not always that early in the morning. Anywho, work was great, but I have to tell you I will NEVER get used to the Scottsdale "bling" that comes in those doors. Sometimes I just want to yell "dang girl" philly accent and all, but, unfortunately the risk of being fired and looked upon as a naive unprofessional always stops me. Hmm maybe one day, oh well. Song of the day, Come on Get Higher by Matt Nathanson. Windows down, fall breeze on my face, a good pair of pearls, and good old Matt.. yep that should do the trick. Can't wait to see that cute husband of mine, until tomorrow's cup of coffee.. love your day and everything He puts in it.
